Wild Dog Good Guyde Service – Expert Fishing Trips in Illinois
About Captain Guy Lopez
Captain Guy Lopez has been a dedicated fisherman ever since his father put a cane pole in his hand at age three

He has lived in the Chicago area his entire life and has been smitten by the multitude of species available to be caught at his doorstep. Long a fan of pioneering fishing publications like Fishing Facts and later In’Fisherman magazines because they took a consistent and scientific approach to multiple species and stressed versatility, he embraces a seasonal peak approach to fishing. Guy has been fishing the Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC), Team Walleye, and the Illinois Walleye Trail (IWT) with his long-time fishing partner Paul Dimock since 1995.
Competition forced them to learn and master numerous techniques that have made them accomplished tournament anglers. They have finished in the top ten overall five of the last ten seasons in the IWT and have received four invitations to the Cabela’s National Team Championship (NTC) as a result. They had their best finish in an MWC event in 2010, finishing 14th in a 128 team field at Spring Valley. Guy got his Coast Guard OUPV license in February of 2009 and launched Wild Dog Tackle and Good Guyde Service in 2010. Fishing for multiple species has made Captain Guy a versatile, year-round angler. He spends between 80 and 100 days on the water each year practicing his craft. He enjoys talking shop and sharing the finer points of presentation with advanced anglers as much as teaching an eleven-year-old to use the figure-eight technique to catch his first muskie. Guy also designs and manufactures his own line of custom tackle items including the Never Foul Musky Spinnerbait, the Second Chance Ultimate Musky Quick-Strike Rig, and lure condoms.
